公立高校の入試問題と答えが新聞に載っていたので、
どんなテストか、英語についてやってみた。
活字が小さすぎて、読むのに大変苦労した。
それを言い訳にするわけではないが、ケアレスミスもあり、
満点は取れなかった。
だが、非常に面白い問題が出ていて、工夫が感じられた。
自分が中学生の頃に、このような問題が出ていれば、
もう少し、英語に興味を持てただろうか？
一つを紹介しよう。
A coffee shop in the U.S. set an interesting sign which asked people
to be nice.If you order a cup of coffee in a nice way,you can buy it
for the regular price...
One of the workers there wrote the sign as a joke at first,but it really
worked well.No one has paid $5 for a small coffee yet.
The worker said,"Take the time to say hello.Doing this will make
the world a little kinder."
とあって、４択の立て看板の表示は、どれが、正しいかというのが問題だ。
”Small coffee" $ 5
”Small coffee,please." $ 3
"Hello,One small coffeee,please." $1.75
上記が正解だが、実際にある話のようだ。
