WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE REBORN?
In Australia, there is a nurse who asks dying patients in the hospital with the question, “What would you do if you were reborn?” One time, as she recorded the answers of the patients, she noticed that they had similar responses. Most of them said, “I wish I had the courage to handle my own perspectives in life rather than asking others.” Some said, “I wish I could enjoy my job because I worked so hard before.” Aside from these answers that were mentioned, there was the same reply from patients, such as they wish they could express their emotions because they are afraid to show what they feel, they wish they could keep in touch with their loved ones and have a happy and contented life.
I have a bucket list of what I want to do if I were reborn. I would know what things to do simultaneously. Honestly, I have a different point of view about this topic. I would want to have filial piety if I were reborn. For the reason that in the past years, I talked in a loud voice to my parents when I was in a bad mood. Though my mom did not have any reaction after that, I felt guilty. I would like to become an obedient daughter in my reborn life. Aside from becoming more respectful, I would like to become an outgoing person. I am shy in front of many people, so I am always envious to those who can speak in a crowd confidently. With their humorous talk, the atmosphere suddenly becomes different. It would be nice to have a friend like that and I also want to be one of them.
Reincarnation is a superstition, but it does not matter if it exists or not. We should focus on the present and change whatever you hope immediately. Since we already know what we want in our reborn life, we could control our life by preventing any regrets before dying.
