2012年12月､Sandy Hookｻﾝﾃﾞｨﾌｯｸ小学校銃乱射事件が発生､その2ヵ月後の2013年2月10日、ｺﾈﾁｶｯﾄ州Newtownで歌、鎮魂、共通目的で地域社会を結集するがｺﾝｻｰﾄが開催されました。Peter Yarrow は娘さんのBethany（ﾍﾞｻﾆｰ）と出演､We Shall Not Be Movedを歌っています。曲は1940年~1943年にかけ活動をしていたThe Almanac Singersによって広められました。ｸﾞﾙｰﾌﾟには米国の映画とﾃﾚﾋﾞの脚本家Millard Lampell(ﾐﾗｰﾄﾞ･ﾗﾝﾍﾟﾙ)とともにLee Hays(ﾘｰ･ﾍｲｽﾞ)、Pete Seeger(ﾋﾟｰﾄ･ｼｰｶﾞｰ)、およびWoody Guthrie(ｳﾃﾞｨ･ｶﾞｽﾘｰ)らが参加しています。曲は1955年ﾘﾘｰｽのｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The Original Talking Union”に収められています。 彼らは､第二次世界大戦への米国の参入とともにｸﾞﾙｰﾌを解散をし､戦争後にLee Hays、Pete Seeger、は引き続きThe Weaversを結成しました。その後､曲は公民権運動や人種差別反対運動、抗議、そして組合の歌として民衆たちに歌い継がれました。1965年にはThe Seekersはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The Seekers"､2007年にはﾘｽﾞﾑ＆ﾌﾞﾙｰｽ/ｺﾞｽﾍﾟﾙ歌手、女優、公民権活動家のMavis Staples （ﾒｲｳﾞｨｽ・ｽﾃｲﾌﾟﾙｽﾞ）はｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ” We'll Never Turn Back"に曲を収録しています。
元々、I Shall Not Be Moved は、奴隷としてｱﾌﾘｶから奴隷として連れて来られたｱﾌﾘｶ系ｱﾒﾘｶ人の先祖たちが、自分たちを勇気づけるために歌われた歌です。この歌は、「水に植えられた木のように」、神に対する信仰によって「動かされない」と表現しています。そして､1929年にﾌﾞﾙｰｽのｷﾞﾀﾘｽﾄで歌手のBlind Roosevelt Graves and Brother（ﾌﾞﾗｲﾝﾄﾞ・ﾙｰｽﾞﾍﾞﾙﾄ・ｸﾞﾚｲｳﾞｽ）とCharley Patton（ﾁｬｰﾘｰ･ﾊﾟｯﾄﾝ）はこの曲をﾘﾘｰｽしています。
