ある日何気なく

ジョイ講師のFacebookを見ていたら

宮崎駿監督のアニメについて

たくさん投稿していることに気が付きました。

ジョイに「日本のアニメ好きなの？」と聞いてみると

「もう大好きで！！！大好きで！！！」との返事。

Englishbudsっ子にアニメ好きな子は多いので

講師コラムでアニメの話題をシェアしてみたら？

と提案してみたところ

Hello! Today I would like to share to everyone my favorite hobby which is watching animation. I started watching anime when I was still 10 years old and cannot forget my first favorite show Doraemon which I was so obsessed with. The story revolves around an earless robotic cat named Doraemon and a boy named Nobita Nobi. As a kid, I dreamnt of having a friend like Doraemon who you can always rely on especially in times of need. He usually goes about just pulling anything out of his pocket just to help his friend Nobita. This is where my love for anime started and made me watch more shows like Mojacko, Inuyasha, Naruto, Detective Conan and Pokemon. These were all the hit animation that were aired in Philippine TVs late 90’s and early 2000’s. The funny thing about anime shows aired in our country is that they are dubbed into Tagalog language so that the young viewers like me can understand which can sound weird sometimes. I continued this hobby until high school where my friends and I were to excited to see the new episodes of Flame of Recca, Ghost Fighter, Slam Dunk, cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor moon and Samurai X.

After finishing my studies, I was too busy with my work and my family. It was only recent that I found my way back to watching anime. My favorite anime creator now is Hayao Miyazaki who created all the Studio Ghibli movies. My favorite anime from him is “When Marnie was There”. I completed all of his masterpieces like Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies, The Secret World of Arriety, Ponyo, Porco Rosso, Howl’s moving Castle, Kiki Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro and more. I love these movies for so many reasons like the fantastical creatures, fairy tale-like stories and the richly animated world. Best of all, all shows value the importance of relationship, achieving great things and beyond that, happiness, purpose and life itself. All the characters share their triumph with family and friends that is why it is so child friendly and surely I will watch these movies again with my son in the future. Because of the Pandemic, I had more extra time to spend at home so I explored more genre of anime like slice of life, drama and fantasy. Can you believe I finished 58 anime movies and series in the past 3 months? Most of the movies I love to watch is drama and by far I have 2 favorite anime shows which are Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni and Koe no Katachi. I find both as the best anime with genre of drama where in both shows had me burst in tears. Lastly, aside from drama I also enjoy watching Shounen animation like Attack on Titan, Bleach, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyashiki, HunterxHunter, One Piece, fairytale, Buko no Hero Academia. All of them excites me especially the action and story where in you will always crave for the next episode.
