朝4時に目覚める。
今日は仲間と忍び猟をする予定だ。

昼食は蕎麦を食べる予定らしい。
適度に運動してお腹を空かせよう。
車のナビで待ち合わせ場所までの所要時間を計測すると2時間となっていた。
待ち合わせは朝6時45分
6時30分に到着するつもりで4時30分に家を出発する。
6時に現地に到着した。
早すぎたと思ったら自分よりも早い人がいた。
年齢を重ねると朝起きるのが早い。
全員集まったので談笑する間もなく猟場に移動する。
みんな昼食の蕎麦のことしか頭にないようだ。
6時53分 猟場に到着した。
4人で二手に分かれて谷を囲んで鹿を獲る作戦らしい。
忍び猟を始めよう。
7時21分 450mほど進んだところでスノーシューが必要だということでスノーシューを取りに戻った。
この辺は自分は数年ぶりに来たがこんなに雪があるのは珍しい。
7時40分 スノーシューを持ってきた。
ここからが本番だ。
鹿の痕跡は少ない。
8時10分 この辺りから鹿がいるかもしれないから気を付けて先に行けと指示を受ける。
100ｍほど上の針葉樹林の中に鹿のお尻が見えた。
鳴かずに走りだしている。
流石に、この猟場を知り尽くしているようだ。
8時25分 目的の稜線に向けて登っていく。
ここにくるまで2.5ｋｍほど歩いている。
ここまでの道のりとは違い鹿の痕跡がある。
この先に鹿がいるらしい。
疲れてきたので戻って蕎麦を食べに行こうかと考えをめぐらす。
8時50分 ここからが今回のメインの場所らしい。
遠くの稜線に鹿がいるとリーダーに小声で伝える。
「撃って良いよ」と気軽に言われた。
距離を計測すると544m。
俺の鉄砲では当たらない距離だ。
小声で話す必要もない距離だ。
9時 対面の斜面に鹿がいる。
朝ごはんを食べている。
真正面にいる一番近い鹿で254ｍ。
撃っても鹿の回収が困難だから撃たないほうが良いというリーダーの判断。
忍び猟を続けよう。
9時10分 反対側の稜線にブラボーチームがいるらしい。
姿は確認できない。
「どこにいるか見えないから大声出して」と無線で要請する。
無線からは「クスクス」と笑う、笑い声だけが聞こえる。
俺たちは鹿を獲るために静かに忍び猟をしている。
だから大声は厳禁だ。
忍び猟を続けよう。
9時15分 その時はきた。
あの鹿を「撃っていいよ」と気軽に言われた。
対面に複数の鹿がいる。
近い鹿の距離を計測すると215ｍだ。
一般的なハーフライフルの距離ではない。
鹿は異変を察知して、斜面を移動し始めている。
12GA バーンズ3/4 100ｍでゼロインを合わせている。
225ｍでスコープの距離調整をする。
ZEISSのエベレーションダイアルを回す。
ABOLTに装填した弾は、ウインチェスター3インチ。
ゼロインをした弾ではない。
ZEISSのエベレーションダイアルで高さの調整は問題ない。
弾の違いで狙った場所より右に少しずれるはずだ。
鹿がすべて最初の距離より移動している。
距離が遠すぎるので、スコープの倍率を6倍から12倍にした。
この距離だともう少し倍率が欲しい。
一瞬止まった雄の鹿に狙いを定める。
225ｍよりも距離が遠い。
20ｃｍほど上。
背中のラインに横軸を合わせる。
縦軸も25ｃｍほど右に行くと思い首の付け根に合わせる。
鹿が動き出す前に撃った。
遠くの距離なのに急いで撃った。
できれば落ち着いて撃ちたかった。
撃った鹿が横に10数メートル移動した。
二の矢を装填して確認する。
斜面を上に上がる気配はない。
弾が当たっているようだ。
スコープで見ると左わき腹に弾の跡が丸く見えている。
数秒後に撃った雄鹿は、
よろよろとその場に崩れ落ちて、
崖下に転げ落ちた。
鹿を撃った場所を計測すると距離は238ｍだった。
12時 獲った鹿を回収して車に戻る。
みんなで昼飯を食べに蕎麦屋に行く。
山を歩いた後の蕎麦は格段に美味い。
