Take a shine to someone
Hello again everyone, it is a beautiful summer’s day and the sun is shining brightly in the sky which reminded me of this commonly used phrase “take a shine to” which means to feel something in a romantic sense for someone you have met recently.
Example
I think my son has taken a shine to one of the girls in his class. Everytime I mention her name his face goes bright red.

こんにちは。今日は美しい夏の日で、太陽が空に明るく輝いています。
これは私に、一般的によく使われるフレーズ「take a shine to」を思い出させました。
意味は、最近会った人に恋愛感情として何かを感じる、ということです。
[例文]
I think my son has taken a shine to one of the girls in his class. Everytime I mention her name his face goes bright red.
(私の息子は、クラスの女の子の一人にひとめぼれしたと思います。私が彼女の名前を言うたびに、彼の顔は真っ赤になります。)
