Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.
Yesterday was a national holiday called Respect for the Aged Day.
I checked the history of this holiday.
In 1947, one village mayor made 15th of September as Respect for the
Aged Day to make a better village by listening to old people’s opinions.
19 years later, this day became a national holiday.
Now, this holiday is the third Monday of September to connect weekend.
I made a telephone call to my mother who lives far from my home.
She didn’t realize that yesterday was that holiday because everyday
is like a holiday for her. She is easy-going.
Anyway, I hope she will live cheerfully as long as possible.
